The Most Significant Day, that changed the life of Pastor Gerald Walkowiak was October 17th, 1991 when he repented of his sins and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. This one decision changed his life forever. It was not long after his conversion that God transfered his family to Honolulu, Hawaii. Under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Surface, Pastor Walkowiak learned what ministry was all about, Loving God and Loving People. God began to work in Pastor Walkowiak's heart and called him to preach. Pastor Walkowiak began his preparation for the ministry at Ambassador Baptist College in North Carolina. After two and half years of college, he sensed God's call to his first pastorate at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Akron, NY. After serving here for six years, God began to ask him to return to Ambassador Baptist College for further training. While in New York, Pastor Walkowiak received his Bachelor of Religion Degree from the Baptist Theological School in Rhode Island. He graduated with a Graduate of Theology from Ambassador Baptist College in May of 2005. While waiting patiently for God to direct him to his next ministry, he served as Adult Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and Church Treasurer at Maranatha Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. In December of 2008, Pastor Walkowiak began preparations to begin and plant the Heritage Baptist Church in Winchester, VA. Pastor Walkowiak's heartbeat is that of a pastor. He loves this new minstry and is excited about what God is going to do in the future.
Pastor Gerald Walkowiak and his wife, Dana, have been married for 21 years. They have six children, 4 girls (Amber, Amy, Anna, and Amanda), two boys (Christopher and Nathaniel) and one yellow lab named Haley.
